Sounds so much like the clutch, more than likely needs replacing they do wear after a while.

Or it may be spur gears or something like tht but im putting my money on it being a clutch problem.

Hi mate, give a little more details on your car dude. it could be a few things such as: the cltch/bell worn and need replacing, or maybe one of the diffs has gone. i had something similsr last summer. Car reving away but no movement, first impression was the clutch but fine. on closer inspection the front diff had been schreeded. Because of the wat which 4x4 works on a buggy the power goes to the path of least resistance, so all power was going to the front nothing to the back. problem solved.. simple fix too. :D

Aye yeah ian i have had that problem before all i did was shim the diffs out with a washer or to to push all the gear pinoins togather more. Worked when i held it in the air but not when i put it on the ground and thats all it were so simple to fix.

The car is a hobby pro matador with picco p3 .21 engine brand new only done break in few days ago, was running fine now engine gear is spinning the differential gear but no power to the wheels.... when held off the ground the wheels do spin but the back wheels much faster than the front wheels, but sitting on the ground no power at all.

so its probs the diff gear not spreading power evenly or at all as in my case..

Deffo sounds loike a Diff problem. when the car is off the deck there is minimum resistance at all the wheels. doing it diff by diff start at the front, try turning the input shaft by hand and see if the wheels turn? you if they do then try holding the wheels to prevent you from turning the input shaft, this will check to see if they are intermitantly not meshing. then try this with the back diff. and last the centre diff.
i hope this makes sense..lol lost myself a bit :P :P

ok checked defo seems to be centre diff front and back have turn when lifted off the ground and resistance when sat down but centre has no effect...

will this be an easy fix or full strip out of centre diff i checked the manual for Differential gear assembly diagram and its looks pretty scary ;p but willing to try if something can be done.....

ok so i took the plunge with the centre diff removed from model and took it to bits the teeth looked fine and when turned by hand seemed to be working fine so i assembled again making sure all screws was tightened.. I then tried on a small path ice and snow free the only one and its seems to be working as i said not had chance to take on decent run as everywhere is covered with snow and ice,

so thanks for the advice will let you guys know how it goes when i get a proper run at it......
