Title: well lets face it
Nitroazza - December 31, 2009 01:12 PM (GMT)
well guys, as the title says, lets face it, i cant control my car in mid air. i dont know how, if i push the throttle in air to level my car up, it does nothing. just flies the same, nose down.
so sayng that, you figured some jumps i did ended up a disaster.
did a few good jumps, even from my ramp, airing and clearing a concrete bollard lol.
but this is what happened when i landed upside down

snap goes a part of the cooling head

not happy

Dont worry not the end of the world aslong as your engine doesn't get that hot any way the whole 100% of it's not needed and there only cheap if you really do want a new one.
Maybe are you going off the ramp at full speed if so only try half throttle to get control of it, Is your truggy balanced correctly and also renember it's not going to be able to jump as well as a 4wd. Because your 2 wheels are doing the balancing in mid air and not ultimate control of 4wd.
Keep practicing youl get the hang on it i did, I was completely rubbish at the start keep trying never give up, Adjust the shocks to if need be for a better landing. And metal clutch shoes give a quicker kick so better control in mid air.
End of Keep trying never give up and it's not the end of the world a little bit chipped of the cooling fins. (maybe a engine guard would help if you got a new head save it happening again)
But some people also say (not me) If you don't break something your not trying hard enough.

Was the shell on it when you jumped?
Nitroazza - December 31, 2009 01:27 PM (GMT)
yea man, but with the metal clutch shoes thing, i ordered some, they look the same but the original ones are slightly smaller.
grrrr
and yes mate, shell stays on at all times now, ever since my misus smashed my tt01
Rossy - December 31, 2009 01:33 PM (GMT)
So how bad's the shell damaged?
And what percentage throttle do you leave the ramp at? say i start doing mine at the 30% then get more and more untill i reach about 70% then the 30% more i have i use for control in the air it's a dedication of science jumping.

i think you will find this is because its only rear wheel drive! if the front wheels were spinning they would act like Gyroscopes and you can throttle or break to get a response. Maybe someone can confirm my thoughts? B)
Rossy - December 31, 2009 04:17 PM (GMT)
Yeah thats what i said ian 2wd isn't as good for jumping as 4wd because of the way 4wd works as gyroscope. But althought it's only 2wd you can controll it but it's a little harder.
Another tip keep on the throtle in the air otherwise you let go of the throttle and the front will go down first.

yeah man, erm damage to the shell,. where it landed upside down from a height, the shell crushed in, push against the cooling head and aswell as snapping the finn off, the cooling head is now carved into the top of the shell
Rossy - December 31, 2009 05:34 PM (GMT)
Pretty bad crash then. Anyways look into the future now and hope for better landings. The damage is done
Nitroazza - December 31, 2009 05:54 PM (GMT)
yeah defo mate.
oh and i cracked the back piece, realised that earlier.
but ah well, an excuse to get a new shell lol
Rossy - December 31, 2009 05:58 PM (GMT)
Only one problem there shells are like £20 that's my problem every couple of bad crashes i have to get a new one lol.

2wd / 4wd air control is the same throttle hard ass end goes down, hit the breaks ass end rises, 2wd is allot slow to respond hold the throttle on and don't hit the brakes after it will go down at the rear,

cheers for that bud, will jst squeeze the throttle then, coz the nose always goes down,
