Title: car stalls

Nitroazza - January 1, 2010 07:09 PM (GMT)
hi guys,

does anyone know why my car stalls?

when on idle, it needs to be constantly reved to stay started. im going to adjust the idle screw to sort this out.

but if you watch my vid, at the point where i thrash it up the field, on the way back, it just dies out on me. at high revs.

anyone know why?

Without being ther and seeing it first hand, it's always Hard to diagnose something like that.

Up your idle a Little, that'll help the stalling issue.

Maybe richen the HSN a Little for the other problem. It might just be leaning out too much when WOT...

And always, as I always say, make sure the Plug is ok. Yes it's running, but it could be down to that, you just never know with them. Always have a New Spare and try it, see what happens with it.
And make sure the one you have got in or are fitting, is the Correct one for your Engine.

why have you just deleted my reply russ?

its rely anoying.

Yeah really har to diagnose without being there but seems like it may be the clutch springs have gone weak and each time you go down in the revs it cuts out could be them.

Nitroazza - January 1, 2010 07:57 PM (GMT)
cant be that mate, had a fresh clutch and clutch spring change the other day. the old pastic clutch shoes where burned down like mad haha.

but yeah, glwo plug is brand new, so no problem with that.

when it comes to the idle, yeah maybe it does need adjusting, but it already nudges itself forwards on its own, so cant really adjust it anyway for any higher idle revs.

it sounds like its now fully broken in mate to be honest. nearly all engines dont run unless there reved. nitro engines arent really designed to be idled so aslong as it runs well and dosent over heat or stop when breaking i wouldent worry about it

Nitroazza - January 1, 2010 10:47 PM (GMT)
yeah it has got to be fully broken in mate, used nearly 2litres of fuel through it altogether, yeah it runs well, just stalls at top revs.

gazag - January 1, 2010 10:55 PM (GMT)
ahh top revs, shat sounds like its lean on the HSN, richen it up abit and it should solve it

Nitroazza - January 2, 2010 12:25 AM (GMT)
yeah i know you helped me by putting the second post with the video address in it. thanks for that, but you said about the glowplug, i just replied to that and you deleted it.

and thanks, i will richen up the hsn a bit. thanks

Rossy - January 2, 2010 09:46 AM (GMT)
Well if it has got good clutch shoes and springs it could just be that it's fully broken in now and youll find that nitro engines hate idleing for anyperiod of time unless you keep a little rev going.

russmini - January 2, 2010 10:35 AM (GMT)
Mate,

Your 2nd post had the Video link in and a line underneath saying, I forgot to put the video link in, here it is...

Nothing about Glow Plugs was mentioned in it...

Do not start an Argument with me Again...

Nitroazza - January 2, 2010 01:43 PM (GMT)

1st thing, cool little video mate

azza hows it going mate, still having little troubles?

as the guys say, if your cutting out on high revs, ritchen the high speed needle, just do it 1/16 of a turn to start with, it it still happends do another 1/16 of a turn.

also mate when adjusting your idle screw, open it up just a tiny bit, if your finding the model to be trying to move forwards, close the idle a little bit, if your finding it hard to get the right adjustment, you can always use your throttle trim to help with adjustment

Nitroazza - January 2, 2010 03:44 PM (GMT)
yeah mate its all sorted thanks.

runs nice now. lol

yeah the vid was just a quick bash around. and my misus actually wanted to join me :D

Rossy - January 2, 2010 04:14 PM (GMT)
Nice to hear it's all sorted and yeah i use the throttle trim when tuning any nitro model it does help sometimes, Pleased to hear a women using a radio controlled car they usually complain about standing around or if they crash they will get shouted at.

Nitroazza - January 2, 2010 04:33 PM (GMT)
haha, yeah, welll i keep saying to her bout getting a stampede or something for off-road and can use it on-road. coz with the tt01, she cant rc with me on fields. and yesterday she actually said bout me getting her one, just not nitro haha.

so i was like wooo, yeahh bonus haha

and at the end of the bash, she told me she actually enjoyed it haha
and she aint actually bad at controllin the model

Rossy - January 2, 2010 07:59 PM (GMT)
She may like it because she's spending time with you which you like instead of i.e. women cloths shopping which yeah you spend time with her but you don't enjoy it she might like it because she's spending time with you and you like it.

Nitroazza - January 2, 2010 08:08 PM (GMT)
