I've just bought an SMC 5200mah 50C lipo, and it's awesome! Can also be charge at 2C like the one in Marc's link. VERY punchy, a noticeable difference between the SMC and my 5000mah 40C Robitronic.

I charge my old Orion 4800 Platinum lipo at over 2c...

Still works like brand new..

The whole 1c thing is nonsense... well it is to me anyway

ive got the nosram version off this 5900 50c lipo and its awesome, although i do think its pricey at £95...

russmini - March 13, 2010 11:48 AM (GMT)
You think they're pricey ??

I thought they were a good price for the spec. Especially comparing them to previous years stuff...

They are close to the top of my list...

For £95 i think their pricey as well, worth it but pricey..

I/we can get hold of 5200mah 35C lipos for £28, well you know me

But i must admit IF i was going to spend over £50 on a lipo it would have to be one of these ProTek R/C 2S "Supreme Power" Li-Poly 40C Hard Case Battery Pack (7.4V/5000mAh) (ROAR Approved)

£90+ is very good imo

Paid 96 for my orion 4800 platinum lipo nearly 3 years ago now and it's still just as good as the day i bought it, a cheaper lipo world have died by now.

Very good point mate, how many charges do you think your orion has had in that amount of time?

Mine and tims lipos are cheap, so in a few years or so lets see if they are still working as great as they are now

Nick 'God' Priest - March 14, 2010 08:15 PM (GMT)
I'd say it's had around 900-950 charges in it's time now, plenty of 10 amp abuse in the last year.

Marc.. RC Addict! - March 15, 2010 02:20 PM (GMT)
Nice amount of charges

Most lipos says they last for around 1000 charges, or does this change depend on the lipo you buy?

Must admit if my lipo last me a year or so i would be happy enough, :) longer the better though a mate

Nick 'God' Priest - March 15, 2010 03:25 PM (GMT)
It's probably over a 1000 now as i've only counted our weekend series and friday club nights, not counted the outdoor meetings i've done, thursday stafford nights and various other clubs... Brilliant battery :-D
