Are there any good pull start race engines?

I've got a real downer on bump boxed, I've used them in the past and thought they were a bit gash, and yet another thing to cart about.

So that's it, Are there any decent .21 engines that would be suitable for competition that use a roto or pull start, or that can be converted to such.

ta.

Hi
Yeah I agree bump box. I had a roto start on my last car nothing but problems, lost count of how many times I had to replace the oneway bearing,it seems the bearing cannot handle the extra torque of the rotostart. I think you will find race engines don't offer a replacement backplate for a pullstart/rotostart.

There are a few Novarossi engines and some others who do a pull start option, but few and far between. Not worth having a race engine if you are going to slap a pull start on it. Defeats the object really. :)

if you get a good starter box it will be so easy. Fastrax True strat or King Start etc etc great boxes. yes it means more to carry but thats the nature ofthe beast..Lol :D

This is a pretty good little engine. I have one in my Hyper 7 and its a screamer. i got it from my friend Adam who ran it in his Losi 8 20T for a while and was very impressive. My one does not have the pull start.
