Title: Engine mis firing

madmax1609italy - February 10, 2010 01:12 PM (GMT)
Hello there,

I was wondering if someone coul help me with my nitro engine.

I have a picco engine that is perfect the only thing is that it mis fires at full throttle . It does not do it consistently but it does it lets say after a long straight etc... It seems like is starving fuel etc....

Could it be my fuel?? I have opened it in June 2009 and kept it in the garage for quite sometime before using it again last week.

Could it be the glow plug, I have an OS8 , may be I need a hot plug like a P3 .

Please help with suggestions if you can.

Thanks

Max

This happened to me on my Traxxas when it got hot. It was an enclosed truck body, without any holes. After adding some so it got some air it was fine. It wasn't a runnig lean problem for me, but it could be for you obv.

Hi madmax and welcome to the forum :)

I'm gonna suggest tune it. If you think it's lean then richen, but from the limited info you've given me I'd say that's too rich.

Always worth trying a new glow plug (same type) and fuel before you start replacing parts :) Which fuel brand and percentage are you using?

Can you post a video of the problem?

I am going to try with the fuel and glow plug . I am normally preety good at tuning and I do not this that it is the problem.

I shall try to post a video of it tomorrow .

Anyone knows of a good way to clean the carburator?? Video would be good

hi max welcome to the site mate

sounds like it could be a tuning issue, (too rich) its always worth a try just making a few adjustments mate to see if it has any affect..
