Title: cant get new buggy to start
emaxx-kc - June 27, 2010 09:25 AM (GMT)
just bought myself a nitro flash2wd stadium if that helps, just wanted a cheap car to mess about with, ivecharged the glow starter and got all new batteries, im sure the fuels getting to the carb but with air bubbles, im not sure whatineed to do with the needle (idle?)as it says fully close it then open it 2 and a half turns, thentheres another set that says open 4turns? its not run in atall, could you tell me how to set thisup to get it runningand how i can prime the fuel first?

I shouldn't think it would be the Idles Screw. Most likely the High and Low End Needles.
The Idle screw will open the carb slightly. This want to be around 0.5 - 1mm
The othe needles i would go for 4 turns out on both and go from there.
Sorry, i can not help anymore, as you said yourself, you bought a cheapish model just for fun, but with that you lose the knowledge of others as it's an unknown.

ok thanks, only problem is we have the main needle and a little blackscrew underneath the airfilter which is adjusting the carb, we have that set at about 1mm or less. not sure where theres another needle/screw? surely the big ones for petrol and the little ones air/carb how far its open.

Ok, the little one will probably be the Carb Gap setting, this will adjust your Idle. Then as been as it's a cheaper model, yes, you probably will only have 1 actual setting needle. This will be High Speed. Set that 2 4 turns and see what happens, the best you can do to be honest.

Just a thought, when you turn the motor is it actually drawing in fuel? Also have you tested the glow out of the car
emaxx-kc - June 28, 2010 05:55 PM (GMT)
yep tried them at that setting and cant get it to go. glow plug is working fine, tried it and its bright orange. think il just go to the shop tomorrow before and see if he will give me a hand. cant seem to get anyone that knows about them to give me a hand, yeah black one sets the gap in the carb. erm fuel gets through but with air bubbles, ive tried putting my finger over the exhaust and nothing, also blew up the exhaust to get petrol in, but obviously not much incase end up flooding the engine
emaxx-kc - July 3, 2010 03:52 PM (GMT)
ok il be honest i must of flooded the engine, got it sorted and set up right and its spot on, ran it in for a good 3tanks+ (think ive used around 400ml. its running nice, kept cutting out if you gave it abit too much throttle so had to leave it idling with a little blip and it just got better and its running nicely, after its warmed up and been for a spin when idling on the floor it slowly pulls itself along but barely. anyway out on the fields and stuff near mine taking it easy and having fun ;) but cant risk the engine not being run in properly so careful careful lol. goes alot better than i thought but likes to slide a lil too much

open the hsn about 4 turns and idle 1mm and also heat the engine up with a hair drier this will help it start and run
